Luton Town’s resurgence has continued this season with their impressive form in League One, but the latest news to come out of Kenilworth Road usurps their exploits on the pitch.

Late on Wednesday evening, the club announced that plans for a new stadium at Power Court had been approved by councillors of Luton Borough.

Planning permission has been granted for an all-new 23,000-seater stadium that will incorporate bars, restaurants a hotel and housing.

Having lodged the initial plans for the new ground back in August 2016, permission has now been granted with a proposal for the site at Newlands Park expected to go before the council on January 30.

It has been a long time coming for a club that were on the decline for years before their resurgence over the last three years.

Kenilworth Road has been the home of Luton Town for over 100 years, but now deemed no longer fit for purpose, the wheels can begin to turn on a new stage on the club’s history after positive news last night.

It is no surprise that fans of the League One club were overjoyed with the decision on social media.

With that said, here’s how the Luton supporters reacted to the news that planning permission had been granted on a new stadium.
