Bolton Wanderers finally picked up their first win of the season, beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 at home.

Sammy Ameobi gave Bolton Wanderers the lead early in the first half, curling in a wonderful effort after 10 minutes.

The Trotters doubled their lead just after the hour mark when a corner was inadvertently turned into his own net by Sheffield Wednesday's Sam Hutchinson.

Kieran Lee cut the gap to one goal on 68 minutes, setting up a nervy final twenty minutes for the hosts.

However, Bolton held on and picked up three points - their first win of the season.

Phil Parkinson's men still remain at the bottom of the Championship table but now have five points and have cut the gap on their rivals.

They trail 23rd placed Sunderland by three points and are six points adrift inside the relegation zone.
