Birmingham City striker Alvaro Gimenez has taken to social media to reflect on an important week for the Blues, which has seen them pick up maximum points from two games in the Championship.

The Blues won back-to-back home games in the space of five days to main their promising start to the season under Pep Clotet.

Maxime Colin scored the only goal of the game as Birmingham beat Blackburn Rovers 1-0 at St Andrew's on Tuesday night.

Blues followed that up with a 2-1 victory over Luton Town on Saturday afternoon - thanks to Kristian Pedersen's second goal of the season and a late header from Lukas Jutkiewicz.

Gimenez, who joined Birmingham from Spanish side Almeria in the summer, took to social media on Monday afternoon to reflect on the week's events and was clearly delighted that the Blues were able to pick up six points out of six.

The 28-year-old posted a couple of photos from the week on his personal

Gimenez has been an important player for Birmingham so far this season and has made twelve appearances for the Blues in the Championship - scoring one goal, although he is without a strike in his last ten games.

The Verdict

It's been a great week for Birmingham City. There are no easy games in the Championship, so to pick up maximum points from their two homes matches this week is a brilliant.

I've been really impressed with Clotet this season and the way he's been able to get the best out of the Birmingham players. They've now won three out of their last four games in the Championship and are starting to build some momentum.

There's still plenty of room for improvement, but if they can keep this run going, Blues fans have plenty of reasons to feel optimistic about the season ahead.
