QPR are sitting just four points outside the Championship play-off spots heading into the latest international break, but Mark Warburton's side are still yet to keep a clean sheet in their 16 matches this term.

The West London outfit have scored an impressive total of 26 goals since the start of the season, but they have been helped back by a shaky defence which has conceded the joint second-most goals in the division this term.

Their latest outing against Middlesbrough saw Warburton deploy a five-man defence with Grant Hall, Geoff Cameron and Lee Wallace starting in the centre-back positions, but they could not prevent Boro striker Britt Assombalonga from scoring twice in a 2-2 draw.

Key defensive duo Toni Leistner and Yoann Barbet were indeed absent for the match, but QPR have struggled at the back throughout the campaign, and this has led to suggestions that the club should seek reinforcements in the near future.

One QPR supporter took to Facebook to suggest the club should sign former Derby defender Richard Keogh on a free transfer, after his dismissal from the Rams following a drink-driving incident which saw him suffer a serious knee injury.

QPR fans will be familiar with Keogh after the centre-back committed an error during the Championship play-off final back in 2014, which allowed Bobby Zamora to score the goal which sent the Rs to the top-flight at Derby's expense.

Plenty of Rs fans have now reacted to the suggestion QPR should sign Keogh, despite the fact he has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with his injury.

Here are some of their responses on Facebook...

Chris Crees: He's out for a year injured!

Michael Ayres: Then we could sing "Richard Keogh, he's one of our own" without a trace of irony!

James Murphy: Yes,fantastic shout,he should be match fit for the 2021/2022 season and still be only 36

Roy Bracher: Already a QPR legend!

Sean Mitchell: No he’s past It now be good for the 1st or 2nd division

Lee Carters: No we want to win when we get to Wembley
