Prospective new Derby County owner Chris Kirchner has reached out to Rams fans on Twitter to share more information about himself and his takeover bid, which has drawn an excited response from the East Midlands club's fanbase.

A report from The Sun emerged last night claiming that the American businessman had made a £50 million takeover bid in an attempt to pull the club out of administration.

Kirchner has since confirmed that in an open letter to fans but reached out to them directly on Twitter later on Monday evening to "dispel a few myths floating".

The 34-year-old, who is the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of logistics software company Synch.io, revealed that despite reports elsewhere he is not a billionaire but has "done well enough to acquire and fund a club" and shown administrators the £100 million proof needed to reach this point in negotiations.

Kirchner added that he was not planning to introduce hot dogs or cheerleaders at Derby games at this point and confirmed he will be attending the match against Blackburn Rovers at Pride Park on Saturday.

Additionally, he pledged to continue to share as he is legally able how the process is progressing while being respectful to both the EFL and administrators, as well as promising that he "will not let anything like some of the past public debacles happen again".

Kirchner's message to fans has been well received among the Pride Park fanbase, who appear cautious given how things have panned out in recent years but impressed by his openness.
