Patrick Bamford has been the centre of a lot of debate at Leeds United as his tireless work and exceptional movement have seen him still struggle to find the net as often as he could have done with the chances he is on the end of.

The Whites have been at the top end of the table throughout the season under Marcelo Bielsa and have been largely dominant in every game they have played, creating regular chances and having an awful lot of possession, even if they haven’t managed to establish as big a lead as they could have.

The last game saw Leeds welcome Huddersfield Town to Elland Road and they got off to a flying start as Luke Ayling’s airborne volley crashed off the crossbar and in after just two and a half minutes.

In a game that saw Leeds control the match, they were rewarded in the second half as Ben White’s superbly saved header landed at the feet of Bamford inside the six-yard box, which he tapped home to double the hosts’ lead and see them through to a fifth straight win with ease.

Whilst commentating over the game for LUTV, the club’s streaming service, former Leeds man Andrew Hughes was effusive in his praise of Bamford after an important contribution once again. He had this to say: “Watch his movement. With our Sheffield Utd U23s, I've spoken to my number 9 about Patrick Bamford.

“For all the stick he gets, his center-forward play, his movement and bravery is outstanding. He's a top, top player. He's a pleasure to watch.”

It has always been a tough topic for Leeds fans to discuss as while his movement off the ball is the reason for why Leeds create so many chances, there has to be a better conversion rate when those chances come.

However, his efforts against the Terriers didn’t go unnoticed by the fans as he added his 13th league goal of the season...
