Burton Albion have recently announced that Nigel Clough has left his role as manager of the club, with Jake Buxton replacing his former manager at the helm.

Clough has managed Burton for over 16 years across two different spells at the Pirelli Stadium, guiding the Brewers to a remarkable promotion to the Championship in 2016.

The 54-year-old won 78 out of 228 games in charge of the Derbyshire outfit, but he has now left the club due to financial reasons.

Jake Buxton will now replace Clough at the helm of the League One side; the experienced defender has made just short of 100 appearances for Burton since joining in 2017, so he knows the club well.
