Sunderland are facing a tricky test as they  host Northampton Town this weekend.

The Black Cats have already secured a spot in the League One play-offs this term and so this match is an opportunity to finish as high as they can in the table, while also ensuring that their players are fit and confident going into the four-way battle for promotion.

The Cobblers will be no easy test, however, and so Lee Johnson has some big decisions to make ahead of the clash at the Stadium Of Light.

Here's the latest team news and predicted line-up ahead of Sunday's clash.

Sunderland team news

Lee Johnson has confirmed that Charlie Wyke and Aiden McGeady will play some part against Northampton Town this weekend.

The duo missed out against Plymouth Argyle last weekend, but according to Johnson both players will feature against the Cobblers as they look to build up their fitness ahead of the play-offs.

Conor McLaughlin is expected to be involved as well, while Tom Flanagan and Jake Vokins have an outside chance of being involved.

Predicted Sunderland line-up

Here's how Sunderland could line up against Northampton Town...

Lee Johnson could name a strong side to take on the Cobblers.

Lee Burge could start in goal, while Conor McLaughlin could join Bailey Wright, Luke O'Nien and Denver Hume in defence.

Josh Scowen and Max Power could be given the nod in midfield, while Jordan Jones should retain his spot in right midfield with Aiden McGeady coming back into the side on the left flank.

Given Ross Stewart's recent form he deserves to keep his spot in the side, with Charlie Wyke a candidate to slot in alongside him as he looks to build up his fitness.
