Sheffield Wednesday’s focus today is on transfer deadline-day, as Garry Monk looks to put the finishing touches to his squad at Hillsborough.

It looks set to be a busy day for the Yorkshire club and that will kick-start a busy weekend for them.

Tomorrow, Monk’s side take on Birmingham City in the Championship, with the hope of putting another three points on the board and clawing their way back towards 0 points.

Quiz: Do Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United have these 10 things in common?

It’s an important fixture – as they all are for Wednesday - and, here, we run you through the latest team news coming out of Hillsborough…

Liam Shaw

Monk has described Shaw’s injury as a bad sprain to the ankle after he rolled it.

It’s unlikely that the midfielder will feature for Wednesday this weekend.

Tom Lees

Like Shaw, Monk has confirmed that Lees is likely to be missing this weekend against Blues.

It’s a groin injury for Lees and Monk is willing to give the centre-back as much time as possible to recover from the setback.

Liam Palmer

It’s been revealed that Palmer was suffering from back spasms. Along with Shaw and Lees, it’s noted that Monk will give players as much time as possible to recover.

Right now, it remains unclear if the defender is fit enough to feature against Birmingham.

Jack Marriott

A new signing is through the door at Wednesday in the form of Marriott.

The striker has signed on loan and bolsters the squad ahead of the clash with Birmingham.

We await team news tomorrow to see if he has a chance of debuting.

Chey Dunkley

Another player awaiting his Wednesday debut is Dunkley. He’s recovering from a double leg-break.

Monk provided an update on the defender last month confirming he was edging closer to a return.
