There are signs that Sheffield Wednesday may be getting back to their early August form in League One after a narrow victory over Bolton Wanderers last weekend.

The Owls were flying high after the first few weeks of the season and it didn't look like they were going to concede a goal at all, but a narrow end of August defeat to Morecambe sent them into a bit of a slump.

Wednesday went from the summit to the middle of the pack very quickly, that was even with a victory in the middle of September against another form team in Wigan Athletic, and a late home loss to Oxford United two weeks ago only compounded supporter misery.

Some confidence was restored though with a single goal win over the Trotters at Hillsborough last Saturday, but attentions now turn to AFC Wimbledon and the Yorkshire club's first visit to the new Plough Lane.

In terms of the line-up Darren Moore may select for the trip to London, he will not want to change too much from a winning team, but he's going to be forced into it thanks to some knocks picked up against Bolton.

Moore switched the system last week to a 3-5-2 with Lewis Gibson coming in as a left-sided centre-back and Sam Hutchinson being utilised in the engine room, but both were withdrawn at half time with injuries and neither will be available this afternoon, Moore confirmed via YorkshireLive.

The same can be said for midfield pair George Byers and Massimo Luongo - Byers has not appeared since the 3-0 defeat to Plymouth Argyle a month ago after suffering a groin injury whilst Australian international Luongo's injured hamstring has restricted him to just one league appearance so far.

They are progressing with their recoveries and so is Josh Windass, who has been absent since pre-season following hamstring surgery but he will be absent for a while longer as he steps up the recovery process.
