Portsmouth are back in League One action this weekend, as they make the trip to the Weston Homes Stadium to face Peterborough United.

In their last match, Portsmouth were in FA Cup action against Arsenal, going down 2-0 to the Gunners on Monday night at Fratton Park in the fifth round.

However, the league remains the priority for Pompey, and Kenny Jackett elected to rest a number of first-team players against Mikel Arteta's side.

Part of the reason for that was because the Peterborough clash will be Pompey's third match in the space of eight days.

Portsmouth come up against a Posh side who have won six of their previous eight games, including their last four at home.

In contrast, Pompey have lost their last two matches on the road, against Fleetwood and Coventry respectively, and the side will be keen to put their away woes behind them.

A win against Darren Ferguson's side could take Pompey into the automatic promotion spots if Rotherham suffer defeat against Rochdale.

Jackett told the club's official website that he has no new injury concerns ahead of Saturday, with the whole squad coming through the Arsenal game without any qualms.

“Everyone is okay from those two games against Rochdale and Arsenal. There are now new injuries from those," the Portsmouth boss said.

However, Christian Burgess will be missing through suspension, as he serves a ban for accumulating ten yellow cards. That opens up a spot at centre-half.

“The players are competing hard for places and looking forward to all the matches that are coming up," Jackett added.

Bryn Morris remains the only long-term absentee for Portsmouth.
