Kenny Jackett’s Portsmouth side make the trip to Birkenhead this weekend to take on 21st placed Tranmere Rovers, hoping to make it four away games without defeat.
Pompey will want to continue to build their positive momentum, and make it nine consecutive wins in all competitions.
As far as the table is concerned, the side from Portsea Island sit in 6th place with 47 points from 27 games, and have two matches in hand over Rotherham and Wycombe, who occupy the automatic promotion places.
QUIZ: Are these 15 ex-Portsmouth players still playing?
Pompey will be looking to get their third straight win over Tranmere this Saturday, but it will not be a straight forward task for the south coast side, on what is a notoriously difficult playing surface at Prenton Park.
Ahead of the big game, we bring you up to date with all the latest Portsmouth injury news.
Kenny Jackett has confirmed that Oli Hawkins will definitely not be involved this Saturday, after suffering a blow to the head in a Portsmouth reserve game against Exeter City this week.
“Oli got a knock against Exeter which left him with some concussion, so he won’t be available for us,” the Portsmouth boss said on the club website.
“He’s feeling okay, although there’s a rule that means you have to rest for a few days, but he hasn’t been in the 18 recently.”
Other than that, Jackett almost has a clean bill of health for the trip to Merseyside.
Bryn Morris remains the only long term absentee for Pompey, as he continues his rehabilitation.
A win for Portsmouth could move them up to 2nd place if results elsewhere go in their favour.
