Gary Rowett's Millwall side are back in Championship action this weekend as they make the trip to Lancashire to face Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium.

The Lions are back in the North West for the second consecutive week, following on from last Saturday's 1-0 win over Preston North End at Deepdale.

Millwall will be looking for their second win in a row on their travels to move them up the league table - the south London side currently occupy 10th place.

Shaun Williams remains missing for Millwall with a hip injury, and definitely will not be available for selection.

Gary Rowett also provided an update on Ben Thompson, who continues to recover from damage suffered to his ankle ligaments in December.

“Thommo is going to see a specialist [Tuesday], we’re just waiting for the all-clear so he can start running. He’s about seven or eight weeks into it," the Millwall manager told News at Den.

He added that he expects the attacking midfielder to return between "mid to late March".

Ryan Leonard could be in contention to start his first game since October, following two recent substitute appearances, after successfully recovering from a knee injury.

Mason Bennett could also travel with the squad for the first time since joining the club in January, after coming through a week of training.

Frank Fielding is the only other long-term absentee for the Lions.
