Lincoln City will be looking to begin their League One campaign with a opening day win over Gillingham tomorrow afternoon.

Last season, the Imps exceeded expectations by reaching the League One play-off final, before being defeated by eventual winners Blackpool at Wembley.

Nevertheless, it was a fantastic achievement for Michael Appleton's side, and he will now be looking to go one further in 2020/21.

It has been a busy summer for the Imps, too, having replaced key players such as Jorge Grant, Brennan Johnson and Morgan Rogers.

A new-look Lincoln side will travel to Priestfield tomorrow afternoon, with Gillingham also looking to kickstart their season with a win.

Lincoln's team news ahead of the fixture is somewhat frustrating, though, with three summer signings being ruled out for this game and some beyond then.

Chris Maguire and Daniel N'Lundulu, who arrived from Sunderland and Southampton respectively this summer, will be missing for two to three weeks through injury, and subsequently miss tomorrow's clash.

Lewis Fiorini, who arrived on loan from Manchester City, will also miss tomorrow's fixture, however is expected to be back next week.

Joe Walsh remains a long-term absentee having picked up a torn calf injury against Accrington last season.
