Huddersfield Town will welcome Fraizer Campbell back into contention this weekend for their Championship opener against Derby County, but they will continue without Pipa, Aaron Rowe and Rolando Aarons.

Campbell has missed a chunk of pre-season and last week's League Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday due to Covid-19. However, Corberan has confirmed that he will be able to return at Derby.

He told this afternoon's press conference: “Fortunately his recovery has been a positive one. He’s been working with the team this week and is going to be an option that we have.”

Elsewhere, Corberan all-but confirmed Levi Colwill will make a league debut in defence after featuring against Wednesday last week, but recent signings Danel Sinani and Tom Lees might need more time to adapt given their limited training sessions.

Three players that Huddersfield will be without are Pipa (groin), Rowe (foot) and Aarons (knee). Corberan explained their absence and also confirmed he hopes that a couple of them can return in the coming week: “They continue to be players that are going to need more time (to recover) from the problems they arrived to pre-season with.

"We are waiting for them to make the right progress with the medical staff before they start working with the group. I hope a couple of them can start training in the next week.”

Despite the undoubted boost of welcoming Campbell back after a period isolating, Huddersfield are waiting on a number of Covid tests before Corberan can finalise his selection.

He also revealed: “We are waiting for some results. Some of the players that played in the last game have had a few symptoms and resulting tests. We are awaiting the results, which we should get at some point today.

"We hope we don’t lose anybody in this situation.”
