Huddersfield Town host Cardiff City this evening knowing a win could lift them eight points clear of the Championship relegation zone.

Danny Cowley’s men recorded their first home win of 2020 on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers.

Town will be hoping they can record back to back home wins for the first time since December and put further daylight between them and the bottom three.

Cardiff won their last away match 1-0 at Luton Town and Neil Harris will be hoping his side can stretch their current unbeaten league run to six games.

The Bluebirds beat Town 2-1 back in August in part of the Terriers nine-match winless start to the campaign.

Since then, things have improved massively under Danny Cowley, and the Terriers are in prime position to strengthen their grip on Championship survival should they take all three points this evening.

The two sides shared two 0-0 draws in the Premier League last season, and fans of both clubs will no doubt be hoping tonight’s contest is more exciting.

Ahead of this big game for Town, we keep you up to date with all the latest Huddersfield injury news.

Danny Cowley has revealed to the Huddersfield Examiner that Juninho Bacuna has looked good again in training following a dead leg against QPR and that they are hopeful top goalscorer Karlan Grant will be back in the side following his rib injury.

Another potential boost for Town is that midfielder Alex Pritchard is back to full training with the first team following a cyst on his knee.

It is unclear whether the 26-year-old will be in contention for an appearance this evening, but Danny Cowley has told the Huddersfield Examiner that he is available for selection.

Tommy Elphick (knee ligaments) and Colin Quaner (hip) will be missing once again for the Terriers.
