After a two week break because of international fixtures, Derby County return to Championship action this afternoon as they make the trip to Lancashire to face Preston North End.

Wayne Rooney will be hoping that the same fate as what happened in April does not occur, when the Rams who were in a major slump at the time were downed 3-0 by the Lilywhites.

Right now though it is Derby who are in the better form of the two sides, with PNE not winning in their last six matches - five of those being draws.

County are set to be backed by a strong following contingent who will travel up the M6 with a few thousand packing into the Bill Shankly Kop after North End reduced ticket prices to £5 as they look to pack Deepdale following the passing of their owner Trevor Hemmings.

Who is available for the Rams though and who isn't? Let's take a look.

There are still some long-term injury concerns, with Krystian Bielik still recovering from a knee injury picked up at the start of 2021 but Colin Kazim-Richards is closer to a comeback after being struck down two months ago with an achilles injury.

Rooney though has revealed that there's a slim chance that the striker could return for next week's trip to Coventry City, which would be a welcome boost.

The only other known absentee for County is Nathan Byrne, with his booking last time out against Swansea City meaning that he's reached the total of five yellow cards and therefore has to serve a one-match ban.

Aside from the three mentioned everyone else is available for Rooney to select from in what could be a testing game for County at Deepdale.
