Derby County will be hoping that they put together a positive run of form at the earliest of opportunities under the management of Phillip Cocu.

The Rams are currently sat 21st in the Championship table, and have just one win to their name in their opening five league matches, which will make for concerning reading for the club's supporters.

They were beaten by Watford in their last match, which means their sluggish start to this year's league campaign continues, with Cocu coming under increasing pressure in charge of the club.

It had previously been claimed by The Sun that Cocu could be replaced by Wayne Rooney in the dugout, although the Rams are yet to make any immediate decision on Cocu's future at the club.

Derby are next in action on Tuesday, when they take on Huddersfield Town, in a match they'll be hoping to pick up three points from to kickstart their 2020/21 campaign.

We take a look at the latest Derby County team news ahead of their match against the Terriers on Tuesday evening.

Wayne Rooney

It has recently been reported by the Daily Mail that Rooney has been in contact with an individual that has tested positive for Covid-19.

The Derby midfielder has since been tested, and is awaiting results ahead of their match against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday.

If he is to test positive, then he'll be ruled out of action for 14 days, which would come as a sizeable blow for the Rams, who have been reliant on him at times this season.

Tom Lawrence

Lawrence was named as a substitute for their match against Watford on Friday evening, and came on as a second-half substitute for the Rams.

He was unable to make a significant impact though, as the Hornets ran out 1-0 winners to condemn the Rams to another defeat in the league.

But having Lawrence back available for selection will be pleasing to see for the club's supporters, with it being the midfielder's first involvement this season after an injury lay-off.

Martyn Waghorn

Waghorn is yet to feature for Derby County this season, and remains out of action ahead of their match against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday.

The forward scored 12 goals in 47 appearances last term for the Rams, and will be hoping to return to the first-team squad at the earliest of opportunities.

It had previously been revealed by Phillip Cocu that Waghorn was working on a return, although a date is yet to be finalised.
