Coventry City will be looking to build upon their recent victory over Sunderland when they head to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town tomorrow.

The Sky Blues leapfrogged fellow promotion rivals Rotherham United in the League One standings after Matt Godden netted the winning goal in their clash with the Black Cats at St Andrew's.

Currently two points clear of the Millers, Coventry could potentially extend their advantage at the top of the third-tier by beating an Ipswich side who have experienced a drop-off in form since the turn of the year.

Having lost their last three league games, the Tractor Boys are now facing a battle to stay within touching distance of the play-off places and thus will be determined to end the Sky Blues' six-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

Coventry will be without long-term absentees Wesley Jobello and Reisse Allassani on Saturday as they are both set to miss the rest of the 2019/20 campaign due to serious knee injuries.

However, manager Mark Robins may opt to include Jodi Jones in the Sky Blues' match-day squad.

After being forced to watch on from the sidelines for the majority of the season with ligament damage, the winger has stepped up his recovery in recent months by featuring for Coventry's Under-23 side.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph ahead of his side's showdown with Ipswich about his fitness, Jones said: "I'm definitely getting stronger.

"I have played quite a few games now and it's a chance for me to prove my knee is stronger and that I'm getting fitter.

"I am just excited to play football and every time I get to play a game I am buzzing.

"I have been out for so long and you miss the game so much and so any game, whether it's Under-18s, the 23s or first team, I am buzzing to play."

Whilst Godden will be aiming to take his goal tally for Coventry to 15 against Ipswich this weekend, the likes of Fankaty Dabo, Callum O'Hare and Jamie Allen could all play a key role in helping the club seal what would be their seventh away league victory of the season.
