Lee Bowyer has provided an important update on the players who are nearing a return from injury at the club ahead of this weekend’s clash.
Chuks Aneke is back in training. The 26-year-old has been missing since November, after suffering a hamstring injury against Preston North End. Initially due to return to the first-team squad in December, the forward then suffered a further setback in training to a different muscle, delaying his return.
Jake Forster-Caskey has been missing since October’s 2-1 defeat against Bristol City at Ashton Gate with a hamstring injury. The 25-year-old has also returned to full training and could make the bench on Saturday.
Jonny Williams and Tomer Hemed returned to the matchday squad last weekend in the FA Cup, and both look poised to do the same again against West Bromwich Albion.
Josh Cullen and Erhun Oztumer are both back running but not yet in full training after recovering from ankle injuries.
Macauley Bonne, Sam Field, Beram Kayal, George Lapslie, Lewis Page and Ben Amos are all definitely out. Lyle Taylor is also likely to be missing for the Addicks.
