Charlton Athletic take on Wigan Athletic this weekend at The Valley in Sky Bet League One as Lee Bowyer's men look to get three points under their belts.

The games are set to come thick and fast now with the congested season getting ploughed through and in the next couple of weeks a lot of matches are going to be played.

Robust squads are needed, then, and Bowyer will hope that his side is up to the task, starting with a clash against a Wigan team that will look a hell of a lot different to the one they faced in the Championship last season.

In terms of Addicks team news going into this clash, both Jason Pearce and Alex Gilbey remain out through injury and so will not be part of the squad.

Lee Bowyer has also confirmed that Deji Oshilaja is out for a while. He's injured the underside of his foot and is in a protective boot, with the manager telling the club's official media that it's an injury that the person who did the scan had never seen before.

With that in mind, then, we could see Chris Gunter come in down the right-hand side of defence.

In terms of other new faces, Ian Maatsen will be challenging to come in on the left of the back-line, whilst Ryan Inniss is also in contention to feature.

Erhun Oztumer and George Lapslie have both sealed loan exits so neither will feature this weekend of course, and that will likely mean Lee Bowyer is looking to add new faces again today before the deadline.

Marcus Maddison, meanwhile, might be in contention to start after making a brief cameo against Sunderland.
