Birmingham City will look to end their poor recent run when they take on another struggling side in QPR tomorrow afternoon.

Aitor Karanka got off to the perfect start as Blues boss when they beat Brentford but a miserable five-game spell has followed with the team picking up just three points since.

A lack of creativity and goals in the final third is a major problem but Blues will fancy their chances against a QPR side that have an identical record to them.

Here we provide you with the latest team news ahead of the game.

Jake Clarke-Salter

The centre-back returned to St. Andrew's for a second loan spell on deadline day but he will have to wait a while until he pulls on the shirt again.

That's because Karanka confirmed the player arrived with a calf complaint and he will be out for a few more weeks.

Mikel San Jose

Adam Clayton's red card at Norwich has left Karanka with an issue in central midfield and ideally he would hand high-profile recent recruit Mikel San Jose a first start.

However, the boss explained how he isn't fully fit, although he is still 'considering' putting him in from the off at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Jonathan Leko

The versatile attacker made his first start against Norwich last time out but he visibly tired and was replaced after 55 minutes.

It appears Leko is still not 100% fit and a start from the bench against the R's seems the most likely outcome tomorrow.

Jon Toral

The attacking midfielder was absent with Carrow Road after suffering with a slight groin complaint.

Thankfully for Blues, it's not a serious issue and he will be pushing to be involved in the capital and if he doesn't make the squad, Wednesday's game with Huddersfield seems a realistic possibility.

Lukas Jutkiewicz

Blues' talisman has missed the past two games after testing positive for Covid-19.

Karanka only announced the news earlier in the week and whilst he revealed Jutkiewicz is eager to get involved, they have to follow protocols and it remains to be seen whether he will be in the 18 against QPR.
