Cardiff City travel to Kenilworth Road on Saturday to face Luton Town and will be hoping to grab just their second Championship win since the 29th of December.

Neil Harris' side have only lost once in that run but have slipped to unsatisfactory draws on multiple occasions.

Cardiff will likely be pleased not to be facing Reading again after taking on the Royals three times in four games and failing to win once.

The Bluebirds have slipped down to 12th in the table but are not out of the play-off conversation–just seven points back from the top six.

A string of wins would likely put them right back into the mix.

A trip to face a Luton side that are bottom of the Championship will surely be viewed as the perfect opportunity to start such a run and the Bluebirds boss will want as many options as possible available to him to ensure that happens.

They will, of course, be without winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, however, as he suffered a serious hamstring injury and had surgery back in January.

Harris has indicated previously that the 27-year-old, who has contributed two goals and two assists in the league for Cardiff this season, was unlikely to return before the end of the season.

The prognosis for Joe Ralls looks much better but it appears he will not be available for the trip to Luton tomorrow.

The midfielder has made just 17 appearances for the Welsh club this season due to injury issues.

Speaking at his press conference ahead of the weekend, Harris told Wales Online that he was desperate for Ralls to return but the 26-year-old wasn't ready just yet.

He said: "Not this weekend, the glute. You don’t really get glute injuries. I’m desperate to work with him and see him on the pitch.

"He won’t be available for Saturday or maybe next Wednesday. Another two and a half weeks missed, so it’s frustrating for Joe."

Pressed on whether Cardiff would have a full squad other than those injuries, Harris said: "Some players missed out due to injury and illness but we are hoping everyone we’ll be OK."
