Plenty of Queens Park Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that Massimo Luongo has left the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium to join Sheffield Wednesday.

As confirmed by the Hoops' official website, the 26-year-old has joined the Owls for an undisclosed fee, bringing his four-year stay in London to an end.

During his time at QPR, the midfielder established himself as a mainstay in the club's starting eleven, featuring on 152 occasions in all competitions.

One of the Hoops' only shining lights in what was an underwhelming 2018/19 campaign in the Championship, Luongo was directly involved in seven goals for his side as helped them stave off the threat of relegation.

Yet after entering the final year of his contract with the R's, Luongo's refusal to sign a new deal led to him being left out of the club's pre-season tour of Austria by Mark Warburton (via Goal).

Having missed the Hoops' 2-1 victory against Stoke City last weekend, Luongo's departure was confirmed earlier today.

After hearing of the news, plenty of QPR fans took to Twitter to thank the midfielder for the impact he was able to have in recent seasons.
