It's been a fantastic start to the season for Portsmouth in Sky Bet League One with them leading the pack after a quarter of the season played.

Kenny Jackett and his men were always going to be fancied this year thanks to their stature as a club but that doesn't win you points, performances do.

Fortunately for Pompey, though, the displays in the main so far have been excellent and that's in part thanks to Jackett's summer recruitment drive bearing fruit.

Last season, what limited Portsmouth was an over-reliance on the goals of Brett Pitman.

In the summer, then, the club sought to address that and signed the likes of Ronan Curtis from the League Of Ireland.

So far, too, that has helped yield an attacking line that has delivered in style - and we think the chemistry in the attack is certainly pretty high:

Jamal Lowe is obviously a player many League One fans are aware of, let alone Portsmouth supporters, for his direct, tricky style and class end product.

Curtis, meanwhile, has proven one of the signings of the third tier season so far with him adapting quickly to the demands of the division and scoring and assisting by the bucketful.

Finally, Oli Hawkins has been the one allowing the other two to play.

He holds the ball up and brings his fellow attackers into the game and keeping Pitman to a substitute's role shows you how important he is to Jackett's system up front.

Clearly, the three are working well right now and, should that continue, it's hard to see Portsmouth being stopped this season.
