Football League World's Sheffield Wednesday fan pundit Edward Marsh has suggested that a change in mentality can help them to solve their recent issue with conceding late goals.

The Owls have conceded four goals in the 88th minute or later in their last four games–seeing them drop a total of six points.

Garry Monk's side have gone five games without a win, with their last victory coming against Stoke City in October–a run that has seen them drop down into 10th in the Championship.

Marsh indicated that he was concerned about Wednesday's recent issue with late goals.

He said: "We have seen far too many occasions this campaign where we have switched off after working hard all game to get the three points.

"Take the Swansea game for example. We started the game terrifically and, after the first 10 minutes should have been in the lead. Then we lost our momentum and Andre Ayew scored from a Keiren Westwood mistake. However, we showed great character and fight to take the lead with a matter of minutes left.

"We all know how that game ended–another uncharacteristic Westwood mistake, another two points dropped. And that’s only one example from many."

Marsh revealed what he felt the solution may be.

He said: "It’s all in the mentality. If we feel like we are going to throw it away, we inevitably will.

"Rather than sit back and defend, I want to see us press forward and look to cause the opposition further problems.

"Too often, we start passing around the defence and midfield only to give the ball away leading to the opposition having chances to equalise or win.

"Change that, and implement a more positive attitude and I have no doubt that Monk will have success here."

Wednesday's next game sees them travel to The Valley to face Charlton Athletic.
