Leeds United will be back in front of their home fans tomorrow night after an impressive performance against Barnsley.

Once again, the Whites were backed by a massive following for the short trip to Oakwell, with around 4,500 fans making the journey. Meanwhile, at Elland Road, the attendances have regularly exceeded 30,000, with Leeds having the highest crowds in the division.

And, defender Pontus Jansson and winger Ezgjan Alioski told Sky Sports just how much they appreciate the fanatical following they receive.

Alioski stated; “Home and away they support us. They are crazy on the road.” Whilst Jansson added; “If there are 5,000 tickets, there will be 5,000 there. We feel ashamed when we lose for them.”

Despite the recent poor form the fans have still continued to back the team and Elland Road is sure to be rocking for the arrival of another of the division’s big team’s tomorrow night.

A win will move the Yorkshire club level on points with the top six after they have fallen away in recent months despite a positive start to the season.

The Verdict

No one can deny that Leeds’ support is terrific and the fans will appreciate these remarks from the players.

They travel up and down the country to watch their team and they haven’t seen much success over the recent years.

It promises to be a great occasion tomorrow night at Elland Road and the fans will have a key part to play as they look to make it a hostile atmosphere for Villa.
