Ali Al-Habsi has taken to social media to reflect on West Bromwich Albion's 2-0 win over Stoke City in the Championship last night.

The Baggies continued their promising start to the season under Slaven Bilic and returned to the top of the table, with a comfortable victory at the bet365 Stadium.

Matt Phillips opened the scoring in the eighth minute with his sixth goal of the season - turning in Grady Diangana's cross at the far post.

Hal Robson-Kanu doubled their lead with a second-half penalty after Diangana was fouled in the box, minutes after coming off the bench.

Albion are now two points clear at the top of the Championship table and Al-Habsi has taken to social media to reflect on the evening's events.

The goalkeeper - who is yet to make an appearance for West Brom since joining the club on a free transfer in the summer - posted this update on his personal Instagram story. The 37-year-old was clearly delighted that his side are top of the table, simply putting the word 'top'.

West Brom are now unbeaten in their last five matches in the Championship and will be looking to continue their momentum with another three points against Hull City at the weekend.

The Verdict

West Brom have made a very promising start to the new season under Bilic and even though he hasn't made an appearance since his arrival at the club, I'm sure Al-Habsi will be delighted with the start that the team have made.

It's fair to say that Al-Habsi probably isn't going to get many opportunities for the first team this season ahead of Sam Johnstone or Jonathan Bond, but he could still turn out to be a useful signing on a free transfer in my opinion.

The other goalkeepers at the club will be able to get learn a great deal from training alongside him. He's got plenty of experience in the Championship too, so he's more than capable of stepping into the side if needed.
