Alfie Mawson has extended his loan deal at Wycombe Wanderers until January 1st, the club have confirmed.
The defender joined Wycombe from Brentford on an initial one-month loan but his impressive start to the season has seen him rewarded with an extended stay at Adams Park.
The 20-year old’s loan was due to expire after Saturday’s League Two game against Bury.
Chairboy’s manager Gareth Ainsworth said to the club’s official website: “Alfie has been outstanding for us, particularly for someone so young who had only played a handful of senior games before he came here.
“He and Aaron have formed an excellent partnership at the back and it’s a real boost for us to retain his services until January.”
Mawson added: “I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far – it’s been a great experience and I’ve learned a lot on and off the pitch.
“I’ve known Aaron for a few years so it really helped coming into a club where I knew someone. We’re really good mates on and off the pitch.
“It’s a very close-knit group and I’ve got a lot of respect for the gaffer. Now I’ve got the chance to push on and keep improving during my time here.”
In other Wanderers’ news, striker Junior Morias has left the club by mutual consent.
