After being relegated from the Premier League it was obvious that the main and only objective of the Canaries was to gain promotion at the first time of asking.

Overall it's been a successful start to the campaign with Alex Neil's side sitting pretty in second position, and remain as one of the main contenders to gain promotion to the top flight.

As is inevitable with a team near the top of the table, there are players who are bang in-form but at the other end of the spectrum there are those who are somewhat on the fringes of the club.

As the emergency loan window was scrapped for this season, teams only have the chance to offload their players on loan in the transfer windows and with January fast approaching, it's the perfect opportunity.

FLW writer Tom Rawcliffe identifies TWO Norwich City players who would benefit by being loaned out in January...

Louis Thompson

Louis Thompson7

Louis Thompson has been on the books of Norwich City since 2014 but has never really made his mark for the East Anglian side.

He has spent the majority of his professional career in League One with Swindon Town where he made over 100 appearances for the Robins.

This season, Thompson has made two cameo appearances off the bench and has also been included in the Checkatrade Trophy squad. But ideally, he will want some more first team football.

A loan move to League One in January could be a perfect solution to Thompson's problems of finding a place in Alex Neil's competitive squad.

Carlton Morris

20-year-old striker Carlton Morris is a hot prospect in English football, but has failed to make an appearance in the League this season.

His only game time this campaign has been against Barnet and Peterborough in the EFL Trophy, so Alex Neil should be considering the possibility of sending the young forward out on loan.

Morris did gain experience in professional football last season when he spent the season in Scotland playing 33 times for Hamilton.

He has also had stints in the Football League with York City and Oxford United.

Norwich fans... Would you like to see these two gain experience out on loan in January? Is there anybody else who would benefit from a loan move? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
