It's been a good start to the Sky Bet Championship season for Norwich City, with Alex Neil's side currently sat second in the division.

They overcame the disappointment of two late goals against Newcastle United in midweek to beat Wolves last weekend, and go into the international break fancying their chances of going straight back up.

However, there is always room for improvement, and the lack of control they had on their most recent game will be what Canaries boss Neil will want to improve going into their next match against bottom of the league Rotherham United.

Strength in depth is important in this league, and Norwich definitely have that, which means Neil can afford to be picky when his players put in sub-standard performances.

Here, FootballLeagueWorld writer Ryan Evans identifies TWO Norwich players that should be dropped by Neil...

1) Russell Martin

This point isn't so much against the Norwich captain, but more about allowing Ryan Bennett into the team.

Him and Timm Klose were Neil's first choice pairing in the heart of the defence at the start of the season, where they conceded seven goals in six games, and only lost once.

However, after the victory over Cardiff City, Bennett was dropped to the bench for the Wigan Athletic game, and eventually came on at right-back in four of the five games since.

Neil may well be thinking more to Martin's leadership skills, but many Norwich fans are of the opinion that Bennett has more to offer them thanks to his abilities.

The 26-year old has had some great games this season, including keeping a clean sheet in the 2-0 win over Everton in the EFL Cup.

If Norwich are going to win promotion straight back to the Premier League, they'll need a strong centre-back pairing, and their best bet could be putting Bennett and Klose together.

2) Nelson Oliveira

After seven years at Benfica, but only 24 appearances and three goals, Oliviera finally left the Portuguese side in the summer, signing permanently for the Canaries.

Things haven't gone to plan, however, playing just three times, partly down to injury, and having not scored for the Canaries.

It may turn out that Oliveira was an inspired signing by Neil; a player that couldn't master England finally finding a home where it works for him, but whether he's good enough to spearhead Norwich's attack I'm not sure.

He's had stints in English football before, including 11 appearances for Swansea and nine goals in 29 for Nottingham Forest.

Norwich seem to have found their main man - Cameron Jerome has scored five and set up two in the Championship this season, and should stay in the team ahead of Oliveira.
