Upon their relegation from the Premier League last season, many a Championship fan would've predicted Norwich to be in the midst of a battle for the title come March.

However, it hasn't turned out that way for the Canaries and instead, they find themselves in the pack chasing a Play-Off spot, and they still have plenty of work to do to ensure a top six finish.

Nine points separates Norwich in eighth and Sheffield Wednesday in sixth, a big gap to make up, but certainly not impossible.

Norwich have one of the league's best squads, but the squad certainly hasn't lived up to expectations so far this season and that will need to change as the season draws to a close.

Norwich have an excellent squad, but it certainly isn't the biggest.

However Neil does have a few fringe players who should be playing more often than they are.

Here, FLW's Chris Wilson will look at TWO Norwich fringe players who Neil should play more often...

Kyle Lafferty

Lafferty has struggled for any game time at all this season at Carrow Road, but really, the striker should be given the chance to feature a little more regularly.

The Northern Irish international has earned the reputation over his career as being potent in front of goal, and that is something that would no doubt come to the fore if he got more games for Norwich.

Cameron Jerome is Neil's first choice striker at the moment, but Lafferty should be given more of a chance to show what he can do and maybe it would pay off for Neil.

Alex Pritchard

The former Spurs youngster arrived at Carrow Road in the summer but regular first team opportunities have been quite hard to come by for the England U21 international.

Pritchard has been on the fringes of the Norwich squad this season; he has been in and out of the team but he should be playing more regularly.

Pritchard provides Norwich with some much needed creativity out wide and he is also a goal threat.

He is also a threat from set-pieces, delivering quality into the box more often than not.
