Barnsley are currently second in the League One table, two points ahead of third-placed Portsmouth, although Pompey have a game in hand.

There was another twist in the automatic promotion race on Monday, as fourth-placed Sunderland conceded a late equaliser at Peterborough, meaning that their hopes of a top-two finish are now out of their hands.

Mowatt has had an outstanding season for Barnsley and has been an ever-present for the team in League One, scoring an impressive eight goals along the way.

The midfielder and was named in the Sky Bet League One Team of the Season, alongside three of his Barnsley teammates and head coach Daniel Stendel.

The Verdict:

Mowatt is right, there are two cup finals left for Barnsley and it is important that the players got into their final two matches against Blackpool and Bristol Rovers with that sort of mentality.

If the team can deliver back-to-back wins, then they stand a good chance of achieving automatic promotion.
