Alen Halilovic makes Birmingham City admission following transfer

New Birmingham City signing Alen Halilovic has admitted that his move to the Blues is now the “time to show everyone what I can do”, after completing his free transfer to St. Andrew’s yesterday.
The Croatian midfielder had been a free agent since the summer after being released by AC Milan following a largely uninspiring spell in Northern Italy, in which he was afforded just three appearances for the Rossoneri.
Blues boss Aitor Karanka was quick to snap up the 24-year-old and now the former Barcelona prodigy is hopeful of making a lasting impact in his first foray into English football.
Speaking to the club’s official YouTube channel, Halilovic was quick to state the following:
“I spoke with the coach a lot and he gave me the confidence, I am now 24 and I really think now is my time to show everyone what I can do.” @AlenHalilovic 💪🔵

A 10-time Croatian international, Halilovic will be seeking to make a quick start to life in the Championship over the coming weeks as the Blues gear up to take on the likes of Luton, Millwall and Barnsley.

The Verdict
These comments from their new signing will certainly ring true with the Birmingham City fanbase, with big expectations sure to be placed on the shoulders of the Croatian.
He certainly has a point to prove after a largely uneventful last 10 years of his career and the Championship seems the perfect stage for him to do just that.
Karanka is capable of getting the best out of players who have had a fall from grace and there will certainly be a feeling that he has to do just that once again in the case of Halilovic.
Only time will tell if the new addition will be able to live up to his aims.
