It's safe to say that it's been a season to forget for Sheffield Wednesday, as they continue to struggle at the wrong end of the Championship table.

Garry Monk's side had previously occupied a spot in the play-off positions earlier in the season, but a dismal run of form since the turn of the New Year has seen them slide down the second tier standings at an alarming rate.

The Owls have only won once in their last ten matches in all competitions, which leaves them sat 15th in the Championship table with just nine games remaining in this year's campaign.

A number of players simply haven't been good enough this season in Monk's squad, and will be hoping they can restore some pride from the club's supporters when football returns.

Recent off-the-field events have called an abrupt halt to the sporting calendar, with no scheduled return date being finalised in the UK as of yet.

One of the main issues that have seen Sheffield Wednesday plummet down the second tier standings is their poor run of form at Hillsborough this season.

Yorkshire Live's Dom Howson revealed that no other team in the Championship has scored less goals than Sheffield Wednesday in front of their home crowd.

The Owls have only netted 16 goals at Hillsborough this season, and have only scored twice in the first-half of their 15 league matches at Hillsborough that Garry Monk has been in charge of.

It certainly makes for concerning reading for the Owls, and they'll know that results simply have to improve at the earliest of opportunities.

The Verdict:

This doesn't make for good reading at all.

The Owls haven't been good enough since the turn of the New Year in particular, and these statistics on their home form will be concerning for Garry Monk.

The quality is there in the Sheffield Wednesday squad, but for one reason or another, something clearly isn't clicking as they continue to struggle in the Championship.

It's no surprise to see the club's supporters voicing their frustrations over their poor run of form at Hillsborough.
