John Doolan has also been named as the assistant manager after both were confirmed to have resigned from their previous roles of head coach and first team coach at Hibernian FC.

Stubbs and Doolan have signed three-year contracts at the AESSEAL New York Stadium which confirms discussions that this is seen as a long term appointment.

This is Stubbs’ second managerial position and his first in England. Little over a week ago he won his first trophy with Hibernian ending their 114 year wait for a Scottish Cup.

Stubbs takes over following the departure of Neil Warnock at the end of the 205/16 season and now has a lengthy summer to plan for the new upcoming EFL season where his side will face up against the likes of Newcastle, Derby and Norwich.

Rotherham fans, are you happy with this appointment? How well do you think Stubbs will do? Let us know in the comments below!
