Nottingham Forest could be missing several players for their game against Reading on tonight after a sickness bug has hit the camp.

Darly Murphy, Apostolos Vellios and Michael Mancienne are all struggling with illness and could join Joe Worrall, Ashkan Dejagah and Eric Lichaj who will also miss out through injury and suspension.

Whilst Irish international Murphy came on as a substitute in the 0-0 draw with Burton Albion on Saturday, Aitor Karanka told the Nottingham Post that he has got worse since.

"Daryl was ill when we got back to the ground on Saturday night and, on Sunday, he was not able to train. He was here today, but only to see the doctor. We need to check how he is in the morning."

The former Boro boss also admitted that the defensive absentees are of a real concern to him ahead of Reading's visit.

"We lost three players and three players who are the three defenders who have played the most games this season so far. We have lost Mancienne, we have lost Worrall and we have lost Lichaj. All of them were important and now I need to organise everything again."

The Verdict

This is bad news for Nottingham Forest who are on a wretched run at the minute with just one league win in 11, which actually came against Wolves!

Relegation is unlikely but a Reading victory would have fans looking nervously over their shoulders so they won't be helped by a long injury list.

As Karanka says, defence will be the biggest worry but he does have players capable of filling in and will need a big performance from those who do start.
