QPR have made a promising start to life under new boss Mark Warburton as they head into the international break sitting ninth in the Championship following a 4-2 victory over Blackburn.

The Rs were close to relegation at the end of last season but eventually finished 11 points clear of the drop, and Warburton's arrival over the summer has clearly injected a new lease of life into the club as they have already won six out of 11 matches this season.

It was an eventful off-season at the West London outfit with no less than 14 players arriving at the club, as Warburton delved into the loan and free transfer market to source signings across the pitch for this new-look Rs side.

However, QPR left it late to assemble their new strike force for the new campaign with it taking until late July for Warburton to recruit a forward, as Jan Mlakar and Jordan Hugill both arrived on loan deals from Brighton and West Ham respectively.

The Rs then completed their attacking business on the final day of the transfer window as they completed a deal to bring Burnley's Nahki Wells back on loan after he had also spent the previous season at the club.

In our latest FLW Rewind, we take a look back at the day Wells re-joined the Rs...

It would be fair to say there was much excitement among QPR fans when they sealed a late deal for Wells on deadline day, and the Bermuda international has so far lived up to expectations following a mixed first season at the club.

The move has since proved to be an inspired addition as Wells has already netted six goals in his first nine league games since returning to West London, with this being just one goal less than he managed in 40 league outings last term.

The 29-year-old has been forming a productive partnership with Hugill who has also scored six league goals, with Warburton clearly focused on allowing the pair to build an understanding with each other in the early weeks of the season.

QPR were only able to see glimpses of Wells' quality last season, but he is now thriving alongside Hugill up top in Warburton's energetic and creative side.
