Sunderland attacker Wahbi Khazri's agent has come out to have his say on the ongoing speculation around his client, following rumours that Serie A giants Roma are interested in signing him.

In a report in the Sunderland Echo, agent Jean-Christophe Cano was quick to quash rumours, saying he has 'personally not been contact' by Roma's sporting director, who he claims to know well.

Khazri spent last season on loan with Rennes, where he showed glimpses of his quality by bagging 11 goals in what he will deem as a successful spell in the French league, following a miserable spell with the Black Cats ever since making his move to the club back in 2016.

The Tunisian international will no doubt be on the move this summer, and there is a host of clubs interested in signing the versatile attacking midfielder.

His previous spells at Bastia and Bordeaux were successful, and Sunderland will be disappointed that they did not see the best of their big money signing.

The Black Cats are looking to make some of their money back on Khazri though, meaning the likes of Rennes could well find themselves priced out of a move for the player.
