Ian Harte has insisted that Jack Clarke will not be leaving Leeds United this month, with the winger committed in helping the Whites to promotion this season.
Leedsâ 18-year-old winger is the latest talent to progress from the clubâs academy, with Clarke making a big impact on the Championship in recent months.
Since his debut in October, Clarke has scored two goals and registered two assists, with Tottenham amongst the many clubs interested in signing him.
According to Sky Sports, Spurs are amongst the Premier League clubs looking to sign Clarke, whilst the Yorkshire Evening Post report that Crystal Palace have had an approach rejected by Leeds.
Harte, who has taken Clarke under his wing since becoming an agent, has tweeted in response to the latest speculation, highlighting that Clarke is committed to the current Leeds project and wonât be moving in the coming days.
Clarke started Leedsâ 2-1 victory over Rotherham United on Saturday afternoon, but was axed by Marcelo Bielsa at half-time, with the Whites trailing 1-0.
Mateusz Klichâs second-half brace turned the game around, with Clarke now tasked with earning a recall heading into next weekendâs crunch clash with Norwich City at Elland Road.
The Verdict
This is obviously good to see, with Harte quashing any transfer speculation surrounding his player.
Leeds canât afford to lose anymore bodies, particularly players like Clarke, who offer something completely different.
Now, itâs about securing promotion, as Premier League football should mean Clarkeâs long-term future is at Elland Road.
