Izzy Brown will be hoping to have a major impact at Elland Road during the second-half of the season, with the Leeds United loan star aiming for a second promotion in three years.

Leeds brought Brown in from Chelsea in the summer, despite the attacker recovering from a long-term injury.

The 21-year-old is still waiting to make his senior debut for Leeds, but has been stepping up his recovery in the under-23s.

Today, Brown has told BBC Leeds reporters that he hopes to complete 90 minutes for the 23s next week, with the hope that it will put him into first-team contention.

After this confident update from their loanee, Leeds’ supporters should be flooding through the gates to see Brown in action.

Brown’s addition could turn out to be the best piece of business Leeds did over the summer, particularly if he can find his best.

During the 2016/17 campaign, Brown made 38 appearances during loan spells with Rotherham and Huddersfield, scoring seven goals and registering five assists, proving to be a key cog in both sides.

His addition at Huddersfield proved to be the boost they needed to go on and secure promotion to the Premier League, which is what he could potentially do for Leeds.

Leeds are in a great position under Marcelo Bielsa, but the playing squad at Elland Road is stretched due to a mounting injury list and everyone at LS11 could do with the boost of Brown returning.

He is unlikely to be firing this side of New Year, but during the second-half of the season Brown should be ready to show the Championship what he’s made of yet again. If he shows anything like his best, the paying customers at Elland Road will be getting value for money.
