Aston Villa are no longer managerless after Dean Smith was appointed late last night as the new man at the helm of the club.
It’s been a tough start for the Villans so far but they are by no means out of touch with the top six as things stand.
Indeed, if Smith can get them playing good football they’ll start picking up points and it certainly looks as though the decision has gone down well with the fans.
However, Matt Maher, a Midlands-based journalist, has made the good point that the dynamic of Smith, John Terry and Jorge Mendes will be interesting to monitor:
Amid the delight at Dean Smith's appointment, no ignoring the rather eclectic mix at #avfc now. A sporting director with strong Jorge Mendes links, the assistant with the global profile and the local hero as boss. Interesting to see how it all fits together.

Certainly, there might be a potential clash of personalities but, more than concern, fans should be intrigued and even excited by the potential of the trio working together.
Maher is right, it is an eclectic mix of the three but, instead of worry at the potential problems that could crop up, there should be a sense that this could prove dynamite.
It will be interesting to see how it all fits together, absolutely, and if it does knit nicely Villa have a fantastic blend.
In Smith, they have the determined, talented fan in charge that plays wonderful football.
In Terry, they have the respected, knowledgeable and driven assistant.
And, in Mendes, they have a well-connected, shrewd operator that could provide some seriously good signings.
Get the dynamic right, and Villa could be on to a winner.
