News broke earlier today that Patrick Bamford is facing four months out of action after suffering a PCL injury in his knee.

The striker signed in the summer for big money and was expected to be a real star for Leeds this season as they look to get themselves promoted at long last.

He has, however, been playing second fiddle to Kemar Roofe so far and duly played in an u23 match last week to try and keep match-sharp.

However, during that game, he twisted his knee and after a tense wait over the weekend the extent of his injury has now been revealed.

Leeds, then, look in need of another player up top and with the free agent market their only potential source at the moment - we're taking a look at why Lacina Traore might be the man to go to...

First of all, Leeds now look even shorter up top than they did.

Bamford was behind Kemar Roofe in the pecking order up until now but after that, it was hard to see who actually came in as third choice.

Traore would provide an experienced option to come in whilst Leeds must be tempted to look at some of the kids too.

At 6ft 8in he certainly offers something different to what Leeds have and, indeed, to what many other teams have in the league.

Few defenders are going to be able to get near him - even Aden Flint is smaller - and that would make him an interesting asset for the Whites to try and buzz around and work off of.

He has good experience at a high level.

Whilst he doesn't seem a typical Bielsa player that is mobile and energetic, he does have other qualities that could make him a hit.

He's played at a good level for some good clubs and in Europe and that kind of experience combined with his power would potentially make him a plan B - or maybe a way of making plan A better as Bielsa would look at it.
