Bristol City were unlucky not to take something from their game at the weekend as they fell to a disappointing 2-1 defeat to play-off rivals, Aston Villa.

The result means that the Robins lost ground on their opponents on the day and they'll be looking nervously over their shoulders as the season heads towards a conclusion.

Lee Johnson's side are just a point ahead of Middlesbrough and occupy the last play-off place as it stands.

But with a game in hand, they'll be confident of retaining their spot inside the top six, with just five games remaining of their season.

The Robins might not have dominated the statistics, but they will have felt that they could have taken something from their game against Dean Smith's side.

They were lucky that Villa didn't finish the game off sooner though, with Bristol City goalkeeper, Max O'Leary putting in an excellent performance between the sticks.

The young shot-stopper was hugely impressive despite the defeat and he's certainly provided Lee Johnson with a selection dilemma ahead of the rest of the season.

O'Leary has been restricted to just ten starts for the Robins this season, and has been the understudy to Niki Maenpaa for the majority of this year's campaign.

But when he has been called upon, he's put in a number of impressive performances, and it should be a no-brainer for Lee Johnson to start him for the remainder of the season.

O'Leary has got a lot of potential about him and he's showing that he is a more than good enough option to be starting on a regular basis in the Championship, even when all of the goalkeepers are available for Johnson's side.

As a manager, you can't keep changing your goalkeeper, as you need a run in the side to build up any sort of momentum.

O'Leary has hardly put a foot wrong in goal and Johnson would be making a huge error if he was to drop him from the side, and instead, the Bristol City boss should be looking at building his side around him next season.
