Football League World’s Chris Thorpe will be live at Plough Lane as AFC Wimbledon take on Crawley Town in the Second Round of the Emirates FA Cup.

In a tie that rekindles a rivalry that dates back to the 2010/11 campaign, both the Dons and the Reds will be seeking to come out on top over each other in a match that should in theory have all the hallmarks of a proper cup tie, with a place in the lucrative third round up for grabs.

Wimbledon currently occupy 12th place in the League One table after 13 games played, underlining their solid start to the league season under manager Glyn Hodges, with the Dons just six points off the play-off places at the time of writing.

Meanwhile Crawley currently find themselves coming into tomorrow's game on the back of a poor run of form that has seen them slip down to 15th place in the League Two table after a run of only one win in their last five league outings under manager John Yems.

Hodges is expected to ring the changes for Wimbledon on Sunday once again after the Dons were taken the distance in the last round by Barrow on Thursday as they eventually prevailed on penalties before embarking on a lengthy trip to return to South West London.

Strikers Joe Pigott and Ryan Longman will likely be recalled for this game as the Wimbledon boss seeks to maintain the fitness of his players during this hectic period, whilst the likes of Callum Reilly and Steve Seddon should also slot back into the usual 3-5-2 system that Hodges has adopted for much of the current season.

For Crawley, not too many changes are expected, with the potent partnership of Max Watters and Tom Nichols likely to lead the line for the Sussex club upon their first visit to Plough Lane, with both players having netted 15 goals between them across all competitions this term.

Both sides have been guilty of giving away leads this term and will be seeking to add to their minor tallies of clean sheets this weekend, with the game likely to be won and lost in the midfield, due to the combative nature of personnel on both sides.

Neither side has had much in the way of average possession this term and set pieces therefore could well play a part, with both Hodges and Yems liking to employ direct styles of play.

Wimbledon are unbeaten in their last three encounters against Crawley, whilst the Reds last tasted victory against the Dons back in 2011 as they ran out 5-2 winners at Kingsmeadow.

Although Crawley will likely give this game everything they've got, it would be fair to say that Wimbledon are likely to have far too much quality for their rivals and as a result the Dons seem the most likely to come out on top as they continue to manage what has been a quite frankly ridiculous fixture schedule.
