Premier League side AFC Bournemouth are leading the chase to sign Swansea City star Daniel James, according to reports from The Sun on Sunday (print edition, Sunday 21st April).

The 21-year old has become of the most in-demand players in the country, after a hugely impressive campaign for Swansea City thus far.

The Wales international has scored five goals and produced seven assists for Graham Potter's men this season, and has been attracting the interest from plenty of high-profile including Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Leeds United were also extremely close to landing the dazzling winger in January, but a move to sign him fell through in the final moments of deadline day.

But despite the Whites looking to go back in for James in the summer, reports claim that Eddie Howe's AFC Bournemouth are leading the race to sign the exciting attacker, with Alan Nixon claiming that they could pay around £10million for his signature.

The Cherries are resigned to losing talisman Ryan Fraser to Arsenal at the end of the season - the winger, who has scored eight goals and produced 13 assists in all competitions this season, has just one year remaining on his contract beyond this season.

Bournemouth have a knack of signing stars from the Championship, having signed the likes of David Brooks and Lewis Cook from Sheffield United and Leeds over the last few seasons.

The Verdict

I think £10million would be an absolute steal for Dan James, and he is a more than adequate replacement for Ryan Fraser.

He is an incredibly fast and direct player, and deserves to make the step-up to the Premier League without a shadow of a doubt.

Bournemouth would be the perfect destination for him, as well - just look how well David Brooks has done since joining the Cherries.
