Football League World's Sam Rourke will be live at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday as Sky Bet Championship table-toppers Reading travel to the south coast to take on Jason Tindall's AFC Bournemouth in the lunchtime kick-off.

It's been a great start to the season for Veljko Paunovic and his Royals side who currently sit pretty at the top of the league, albeit come into this clash against the Cherries on the back of three consecutive defeats prior to the international break.

Similarly the Cherries have enjoyed a productive start to the 2020/21 campaign, adapting to life back in the Championship well as they sit fourth in the league standings having amassed 20 points, losing just once all season.

The hosts can leapfrog Reading if they secure three points on Saturday, and if results went their way, they could find themselves top of the Championship table come Saturday evening.

Team news

Bournemouth will have to do without striker Josh King who has contracted Covid-19.

Steve Cook is back and available after serving his one-match suspension following his sending off against Sheffield Wednesday.

Lewis Cook is touch and go for this clash against the Royals on Saturday with a shin injury forcing him off in the Cherries' clash with Birmingham, however there is a chance he'll be available for this encounter at Dean Court.

Other than that though, Bournemouth have no other main injury concerns heading into this match.

As for Reading, they are having to contend with several injuries to some of their most key stars.

It's looking unlikely that Liam Moore, Yakou Meite and Ovie Ejaria will feature for the Royals on Saturday, with them all struggling with injury niggles, however Paunovic did not fully confirm their absence and there is a chance they could feature.

John Swift, Felipe Araruna and Tom Holmes will all be unavailable for this clash with them not expected to be back in the fold until next month at the earliest.

Saturday's clash could see Andy Yiadom handed a starting berth at right-back ahead of Porto loanee Tomas Esteves.

Bournemouth possible starting lineup:

Begovic; Mepham, Kelly, Rico; Stacey, Gosling, Lerma, Stanislas; Brooks, Solanke, Danjuma

Reading possible starting lineup:

Rafael; Yiadom, Morrison, Gibson, Richards; Rinomhota, Laurent; Meite, Olise, Ejaria; Joao

Stats

Bournemouth have a strong record against the Royals over the years and have not lost against the Berkshire outfit since April 2001, winning their last four meetings.

The Cherries have scored at least two goals in their last three homes matches against Reading in all competitions, whilst the Royals have scored at least two goals in five of their last six away matches, suggesting a high goal-scoring match could be on the horizon.

Where to watch?

The match is being broadcasted live on Sky Sports Football with kick-off scheduled for 12:30pm.
