Eddie Howe's AFC Bournemouth look to continue to strengthen their squad for their upcoming Premier League season by attempting to beat Aston Villa to free agent Bakary Sako, according to Ladbrokes News.

The midfielder has been nothing short of a revelation for the Midlands outfit in the past few seasons, and his electrifying displays down the flank have seen him attract interest from a number of suitors.

The Cherries had a magnificent season in the Sky Bet Championship last season, storming their way to the title after a season full of goals and attractive attacking football - they will now be keen to utilise the summer transfer window and bring in a number of players to ultimately build on what they created last year.

Sako, 27, who found the net regularly at his time at Molineux, is set to leave Wolves in the summer and is now demanding wages in the region of a staggering £80,000 a week on a four year contract.

The Malian winger has already declined offers from clubs in both Turkey and Russia as he wants to prove himself at the top tier of English football. Aston Villa are also interested but are not as willing to meet his high demands.

AFC Bournemouth have already added Christian Atsu and Joshua King who can play in wide positions to their ranks, so it is unsure how much Howe will pursue a move for Sako.

With Bournemouth already having paid £8 million for Ipswich's Tyrone Mings and landing Sylvain Distin with a £40,000 a week contract, it would not be a surprise to see Sako at Dean Court next season.
