Sky Bet Championship side AFC Bournemouth are chasing a summer deal for Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle, according to the Sun.
The former Peterborough man is a target for the newly promoted Bournemouth after signing for Crystal Palace in 2013 for a fee of around £4.5 million.
He’s only ever scored 12 goals in the top flight and had his most prolific season in the Conference North with Bishop’s Stortford, scoring 29 times.
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is after English players to keep him in the Premier League and is definitely after a striker partner for Callum Wilson, after being linked with Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert and Jermaine Defoe in recent weeks.
Away from the English contingent, they’ve also been linked with moves for Obafemi Martins and Dimitar Berbatov.
Gayle is struggling to win a place in the first team at Palace at the moment, most of his appearances this year coming from off of the bench.
Bournemouth finished top of the Sky Bet Championship table this year and accumulated 90 points this season.
