Spending time in the academies at Leicester City and Southampton, Baily Cargill completed his youth progression at AFC Bournemouth.

The defender embarked on non-league loan spells with AFC Totton and Welling United in the early years of his Bournemouth career.

Cargill went on to enjoy temporary stints with Torquay United in League Two before three loan spells in League One were sanctioned in successive years, with Coventry City, Gillingham and Fleetwood Town signing him in that time.

In January 2018, Cargill was recalled by the Cherries and was immediately sent out to Partick Thistle, who at that time were operating in the Scottish Premiership.

The former Cherry featured 16 times in what proved to be his last loan spell away from Bournemouth, with Cargill sealing his permanent departure from The Vitality Stadium in the summer of 2018.

Although the majority of his time with Bournemouth was spent out on loan, he did manage 11 appearances in total for the south coast club, and after signing his first professional contract in 2013, he went on to make his senior debut the following year.

Following his time with the Cherries, Cargill joined newly-relegated League Two club MK Dons.

Cargill featured 29 times in the league and 34 times in all competitions for the Dons during his first seasons at The Stadium MK, proceeding to win promotion.

The defender only managed 12 league appearances the following season, adding five more in other competitions, in a season where the Buckinghamshire club narrowly avoided immediate relegation back to the fourth tier.

In the following campaign, this notion of Cargill appearing rather infrequently continued before a move to League Two Forest Green Rovers was sanctioned.

Proceeding to emerge as a regular, and an integral part of the club's backline, Cargill played 25 league games as the Green Army missed out on promotion via the play-offs.

Last season proved to be a successful one for the defender and his Forest Green side, with the south-west club winning the league and Cargill played 36 times in the league.

Now, back in League One, Cargill has played 5 games this season but has not played in the league since late last month.
